Delta Gamma: Fall Semester Recap

Bronze, Pink, and New You

How many times have we all heard “new year, new me” when the calendar year begins? Maybe it is a spoken tradition that signals change but for Delta Gamma, “Bronze, Pink and New You” is a continuous promise to strive for improvement.

The sisters of Alpha Omega spent the Fall semester making their time on The Hill one to remember. Delta Gamma welcomed aboard 110 new members on August 19th at the Chi Omega Greek Theatre and celebrated at the former Delta Gamma house. Collegiate member Emly Corn said she appreciated all the support she received from her very first day in DeeGee.

“I was super pumped for the big day,” Emly said, “I felt very loved and a sense to be in Delta Gamma.”

To foster high ideals of friendship among college women, the chapter hosted several sisterhood events throughout the semester. Some of the events included enjoying the sunshine by the pool, watching the sunrise at Artist Point, and visiting the Legacy Farms Pumpkin Patch.

In addition to bringing members closer, the women of Delta Gamma paired with other Panhellenic organizations to host social events. Some of the functions included: Delta Airlines with Tri Delta, Alpha Delta Pi, and Kappa Delta and Halloscream with Alpha Omicron Pi.

While some DG members enjoyed the Razorback Football season in Fayetteville, Collegiate Members Tori Loredo and Cate Morales immersed themselves in the Spanish culture as they spent a semester abroad. Senior Tori said she wanted to learn the language from a unique perspective but anticipated reuniting with her sisters in the Spring.

11/11 marked the date for Delta Gamma’s annual Creme Rose Semi-Formal where members enjoyed a night of dancing at the Chancellor’s Hotel.
