Tri Delta: Frats at Bat

The cooler October temps and falling leaves can only mean one thing—Tri Delta Frats at Bat! Each year, this event is a crowd favorite for our members, but also the members of U of A’s fraternities.

On October 29, members of Tri Delta paired up with all U of A fraternities in a softball tournament to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. It was a beautiful day at Lake Fayetteville with perfect baseball weather! Our members advertised the event at fraternities’ chapter meetings, resulting in a bracket of 19 teams. The teams, with names such as “Dudes for St. Jude”, paid an entry fee as part of our fundraising efforts.

Fans from our chapter and others showed up throughout the day to cheer on their favorite teams. One game even featured a face-off between Sigma Nu members and pledges.

Tri Delta members served as coaches, scorekeepers, and umpires during the 19 games held that day. After a full day of fierce competition, KA took home the golden trophy for the second year in a row!

This event raised over $12,000 for the kids of St. Jude! After being named the second top fundraising chapter for St. Jude nationwide during the 2016-2017 school year, we are more motivated than ever to keep raising money for the true heartbeat behind Tri Delta—St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
