What a semester it has been for Alpha Beta!
#MUMANSION
As this semester comes to an end, it is incredible to see
the progress that is being made and the growth that is occurring within our
chapter, and not just through the construction on OUR NEW HOUSE!!! 792 West
Maple Street is looking beautiful, and we cannot wait to move into the Mu
Mansion in the Fall! We loved having the opportunity to deliver doughnuts to
our dedicated construction team working hard on the house of our dreams, and we
are so thankful!
#GIRLBOSS
With the installation of our new executive board in January
came a new wave of leadership, and Alpha Beta is under the diligent guidance
and care of 13 of the most incredible and dedicated women who put their hearts
and souls into each and every thing they do for our chapter.
WE GOT IT FROM OUR
MAMAS
Phi Mu celebrated some of the most powerful and influential
women in our lives at our Mom’s Weekend in early March. We enjoyed lunch at
Mermaid’s, cake decorating at Rick’s Bakery, and spending a relaxed and stress-free
weekend with our biggest fans and best friends!
GO PHI MU! IT’S YOUR
BIRTHDAY!
On March 4th, we celebrated 166 years of the
SWEETEST sisterhood. We are forever thankful to Mary, Mary and Martha for establishing
the place we are fortunate enough to call home today, and we hope we are making
you proud!!
PHI MU IS #FORTHEKIDS
Did you know, there are 170 hospitals that make up
Children’s Miracle Network, and every minute, 62 children are admitted to one
of these facilities for treatment? On March 10th, Phi Mu joined
forces with Hogs for Hope to support our INCREDIBLE philanthropy, Children’s
Miracle Network Hospitals, through the annual University of Arkansas Dance
Marathon. To represent the 12-hour shift of a nurse in the hospitals we
support, we were encouraged to stand and dance for 12 hours straight in order
to better immerse ourselves into the cause we are supporting. Members were also
able to meet patients who have been treated here in Arkansas at Arkansas
Children’s in Little Rock and the new Arkansas Children’s Northwest in
Springdale, which was an incredible vision of how the money we raise is helping
children. We were thrilled to spend the day with our sisters and other
students, and we were honored to help raise over $43,648 for the kids helped by
CMNH every day.
DESTINATION PHI MU:
We said “Hasta Pronto!,” “Bon Voyage!,” and “Arrivederci!” to several of our sisters who
traveled overseas to study abroad, and wooooow are we jealous (they post too
many pics of the BOMB food for us to not be)!!! They look like they are having
the times of their life, but we miss them bunches and cannot wait for them to
come home and share stories of their experiences!
WORK HARD, PLAY HARD
Phi Mu is all about that #PanLove and it shows in our
reception of the Panhellenic Spirit Award! We were so proud to receive 1st
place in Delta Gamma’s Anchor Splash, 1st place in the IFC Bowling
Tournament, and 1st place in Kappa’s King of the Kourt! One of the
best parts of being involved in Greek life is getting to participate in these
events and so many more with other organizations on campus, including Greek
Sing and Derby Days! We are also SUPER excited because one of our amazing
members (who cannot be named because she is currently serving as Gamma Chi) was named as the Panhellenic Greek Woman of the Month for the month of
April!
THIS IS GOODNIGHT,
AND NOT GOODBYE
To close a semester full of many memories, it was with heavy
hearts that Alpha Beta said “see you soon” to over 80 influential and beautiful
women as they officially obtained Alumni status on April 30th. What
an incredible blessing these women were to our chapter, and what large shoes we
have to fill!
Spring semester, you have been too good to us!!! But…BIIIIIIIIG
things are happening, people, and we CANNOT WAIT to see what Alpha Beta will be
up to next!
