This past semester has been an incredible one for the women
of Kappa Kappa Gamma. I couldn’t be more proud to call myself a member of this
house, and I could not be prouder of the women who fill these walls.
Our chapter received various honors and awards over the course of the spring semester. Kappa was awarded Academic Excellence for the spring of 2017.In
addition, Landri McGregor was awarded Most Outstanding Chapter President.
Landri is driven, determined, and led our chapter with integrity. She is the woman
every Kappa strives to be, and this award is more than deserved. Grace Wewers, our chapter’s Vice President of
Academics, was awarded Outstanding Junior. Grace leads our chapter with grace
and patience; she truly fits the title of the award she earned. In addition to
these honors, Outstanding Panhellenic Executive member was given to Layne Winn.
Layne not only served Kappa, but she served all Panhellenic women and set an
incredible example among the entire Greek Life community. Our outstanding
chapter members are incredible and strong women who embody the meaning behind
our sisterhood, and have been the kind of sisters we all should be. Lastly, Kappa Kappa Gamma received
the Chancellor’s Academic Award at the Student Involvement award ceremony.
In
addition to all of these honors, we are so proud of our seniors and the legacy
they are leaving behind as they leave Fayetteville. We are thankful for the
Kappa women they are, the examples they have set, and for the friendships we
know we will have with them even after our Kappa days.
As we look back on this
semester, Kappa is incredibly thankful and proud for all of our
accomplishments, and thankful for the memories made. These awards and recognitions are incredible, but it is the heart of each woman who steps up to
lead that makes this house so special. Every semester is better than the last,
and I can hardly wait to see what the next semester brings for this sisterhood.
