On Wednesday September 27, 2017 the Delta Delta Chapter of
Alpha Delta Pi hosted our annual ADPicnic event from 6 to 8 PM. This event was
put on by our philanthropy chair Meg Plank, who is so passionate about Ronald
McDonald House Charities we call her Ronald ‘Meg’ Donald.
Everyone was invited
to come out and help raise money for RMHC, including one of the Razorback
football captains and Greek Life officers, who volunteered to be in the dunk
tank. Ireland Robertson, a freshman ADPi stated, “I loved getting to see so
many parts of not only Greek life, but campus as well, come together to help
raise money for our philanthropy.”
Together we raised about $8,000! All of the proceeds went toward
RMHC, which is a home away from home for the families of sick children. RMHC
provides a place to stay, along with meals and other necessities for the
families so they can stay close with their child while they are receiving the
care they need.
ADPicnic is just one of the many ways ADPi supports RMHC
throughout the year. Members also visit families and children just to hangout,
donate items in need and make and deliver meals each month. We have 2
locations we can visit in North West Arkansas, one in Rogers and the newly opened Ronald McDonald
House at the Washington Regional Hospital here in Fayetteville. This is one of
the many reasons I, and many of my sisters love our philanthropy, because we
get to personally see how we are impacting the lives of others.
Delta Delta chapter plans on having more philanthropy events
throughout the semester. We hope to see you there!
