On March 12, all four councils participated in the first ever Greeks Giving Back Day. The theme was the 90's and all councils were paired together for the various events.
In addition to a banner competition, there were volunteer stations around campus that gave away scantrons, bottled water, snacks, as well as Greeks Give Day stickers. Canstrunction, was another event out councils participated in during the day. A total of 10,388 cans were donated to the Food Pantry on campus. The Food Pantry was on the verge of having to buy more supplies before Greek Life made this large donation.
The NPHC Stroll Off competition reached capacity as the UA community came to support. Each of our 10 pairings participated and Delta Delta Delta, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated, Kappa Alpha Order took first place. Phi Mu, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, Alpha Gamma Rho and Sigma Phi Epsilon placed second and third place went to Kappa Delta, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated and Kappa Sigma. Additionally, NPHC held a children's book drive for this event to provide for children in the Arkansas Delta. Well over 100 books were donated.
The overall winners will be announced at the Order of Omega Awards Ceremony on April 20.
It was an incredible day full of fun and giving back to the community. We will always be Four Councils, One Community.
