Thanks to Alpha Omicron Pi's new philanthropy chair, Jordan Rose, the first annual AOII Goes Blue Week got off to a record-breaking start!
Each year, AOII hosts a softball tournament called Strike
Out Arthritis. This year, AOII had twice as many teams sign up as last year and
was able to raise $3,000 for Juvenile Arthritis Research! The energy was
great, and the teams really enjoyed themselves. Congratulations to the
gentlemen of Pi Kappa Alpha for taking home the big win!
Monday night, AOII’s attended a Northwest Arkansas Naturals
game to show support for their philanthropy. Members loved this event, since it
was not only a great sisterhood event but a unique way to raise awareness for
Juvenile Arthritis, as well.
On Thursday, AOII hosted local boutiques for their first
annual fashion show fundraiser, called
“Strike-A-Pose.” The show featured a member of each sorority modeling an
outfit from a local boutique. Afterwards, the boutiques set up a booth with
jewelry, shoes, and clothes for purchase. 20 percent of the proceeds from the
booths went to AOII's philanthropy. After this event, AOII Goes Blue Week raised a
total of $7,000 that went towards finding a cure for Juvenile Arthritis.
AOII is so proud of Jordan Rose and all of the time and
effort she has put in to organizing these new events for her sisters and their philanthropy! It’s truly amazing to see such a great group of girls dedicate
this week to something that is so dear to their hearts.
